Reason for Hope

by Elias Blum

“Let’s not miss the forest for the trees. The exact manner of how they executed Jesus (on a cross or not); or on which day of the week it happened; or whether the resurrection was physical or spiritual isn’t the point. The point is the worldly ‘powers that be’ did their best to stamp-out Jesus’ radically loving, all inclusive, non-violent, subversive and counter-cultural, anti-empire movement. And God absorbed and transformed that violence by providing those heart-broken followers with an empty tomb and experiences of the risen Christ showing that Jesus’ teachings, values, and his Way weren’t vanquished or in vain, but give life – liberated, eternal and abundant – and always will.” – Roger Wolsey (author of ‘Kissing Fish: Christianity for people who don’t like Christianity’).

Amen to that.
